WEDDING TRENDS IN 2021
The Covid-19 pandemic has introduced us to new trends and positive habits along with the negatives. However, we can make sure to turn all those negatives around and get the best out of the situation. The pandemic has also taught us that change is good and how we can change in a way that is beneficial for all of us. All these trends and habits will come in to play when planning a wedding. Here are few wedding trends the Covid-19 pandemic has introduced, which I believe would have a positive effect on us now and in the future.
Outdoor Events
We have been hearing the phrase “maintain 2-meter distance” since 2020. This is not only maintained during our daily chores but also at events and weddings. Most of the weddings take place in banquet halls, hotels and other indoor areas. However, with the Covid-pandemic, it has become a trend to use outdoor spaces to organize weddings and other events. Since banquet halls have limited space, it can be quite difficult to arrange the seating in a way there’s 2-meter distance between everyone. But the advantage in organizing the wedding in an outdoor space is that there is plenty of space and it would not be inconvenient for anyone. It will also give a fresh look to the wedding, because there is nothing better than the nature.
Guest Lists
Before the pandemic, we were able to invite more than 300 guests to a wedding. However, today we are only allowed to invite a certain number of guests the government has instructed. Due to this reason couples are prioritizing the people they really want to share their joyous day with and people who have always been with them through thick and thin. There’s nothing better than spending the happiest day of your life with the people that mean everything to you.
Sanitary Measures
Sanitary measures were never followed thoroughly before Covid-19. But today we have realized how important it is to practice these. Following proper sanitary measures have become the most important trend when hosting weddings in 2021. The wedding venue, cutlery, plates and dishes, tables, chairs and everything else have to be sanitized before commencing the wedding. Wearing masks and gloves have also become a part of the wedding attire, not only for the guests but also for the bride and groom.
Live Streaming
The pandemic has imposed a lot of restrictions on travelling. People are finding it very difficult to travel overseas. Couples have found a way to make sure everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy their special day even if they are not physically present at the wedding venue, this is where live streaming come into play. People who are stuck overseas, unable to fly home can enjoy their loved one’s special day by joining the live stream of the wedding.
