How long does marriage.lk store my personal data after I delete my profile?

Marriage.lk only stores your personal data for the duration of your membership. As soon as your membership ends, and you delete your account, we also delete all your profile entries, photos, and personal details. Your profile is no longer available to your partner suggestions. You are removed from your matches’ “Partner Suggestions” list and you will no longer receive matches either. Please note: it is technically not possible to reinstate or reactivate your deleted profile!

How to report a concern



We encourage you to report abuse or inappropriate behaviour by another member to our Customer Care team. You can report a suspicious message by hovering your cursor in the bottom right-hand corner of the message.

Alternatively, you can also contact our Customer Care team with details as to why this member is suspicious.

Does Marriage.lk check the validity of each member’s details?



Our Customer Care team MANUALLY checks all profile texts and photos before they are uploaded to a profile and made available to view by other members.

This process can take up to 24 hours, but can sometimes take 48 hours if there is a high volume of new registrations.

At present Marriage.lk does not have a procedure which automatically checks the validity of each and every member, as there is currently no technical mechanism that could be utilised across the entirety of our service.

However, we take the issue of your online safety very seriously and we therefore have a dedicated Fraud team in place that checks every suspicious profile and those suspicious profiles that are reported to us.

In order to maintain the high quality of our service, we encourage our members to report any members they deem suspicious, or who have not respected our Terms and Conditions or our Code of Conduct.

Alternatively, you can also contact our Customer Care Team with the display name, location, age, occupation (as stated on the profile), and any additional information as to why this member is suspicious.
